STEAM
In recent years, many studies have been conducted worldwide to place more focus on technology in education. Georgette Yakman has been the founder of this through STEAM education. STEAM is an abbreviation and stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematic. The aim is to have the subjects science, technology, technology, art and mathematics / math work together across disciplines. Pupils are challenged to innovate by using critical thinking and engineering or technology in imaginative designs or creative approaches to real problems framed in social studies.
STEAM within the EU
Within Europe the STEM Alliance was created to bring together Education and Industry. Their main aim is to reduce the substantial shortage of STEAM Skilled workers that could jeopardise the success of the European Community. Since its inception they have reached out to thousands of teachers and students to support this message. LEGO Education is one of their Premium Partners to support this initiative.
